Volcano Boarding: Cerro Nego, Nicaragua

The youngest active volcano in the Cordillera de los Maribios range, standing at 728 meters - beholds a basaltic cinder cone ideal for human descent & as I like to call it, a ‘volcanic playground’.

A 700 meter wide double crater which continuously leaks sulfuric steam; welcomes viewers to peak over the rim for a glimpse of the active magma brewing below. Surrounding lies a volcanic valley full of crop & cattle, enriched by nutrient-rich land, a cycle of life & a micro-ecosystem in itself.
